I want to make brownies! I'm fixated on them but ate a banana instead. SIGH. I wish I didn't like sweet stuff!

Wait till next weekend to make the brownies, that way I'll be there to help you eat them.
ReplyDeleteRead up on sugar addiction and its consequences. Scary stuff!
Another thing - chocolate isn't necessarily bad for you. Milk chocolate is, and so is anything with a ton of sugar dumped in it. If you are a chocoholic, you can get your fix with dark chocolate or cocoa. Both are a wonderful source of antioxidants, and they aren't too sweet...therefore the mechanism that makes you want to keep on eating is not triggered. Have a few small pieces of some dark chocolate with some whole, raw, unseasoned almonds and you might be surprised at how happy that makes you.
ReplyDeleteWell, 2 more days and spring break will be over. I will be back on my regular routine and my normal eating habits. I don't like being at home around the food all the time. But, I do enjoy being home. If only my husband would make me rich so I didn't have to work. LOL. Dream on.
ReplyDeleteI started off my morning with an omelet. 2 eggs, 2 egg whites with bell pepper, onions, jalepenos, and asparagus sauted in olive oil and then split it with my husband. It was pretty good. We are having dinner with friends tonight and I am in charge of the salad. I plan on making it a good one. Good day Girls!!

ReplyDeleteI was just thinking.........someone needs to find out how many egg whites we need to substitute for one egg when baking and how many calories that saves. Egg beaters are half the calorie of an egg but what about egg whites?
ReplyDeleteAnd sauteed asparagus in the omelet sounds great. I have not tried that but sounds wonderful. Also, how about come spinach or turnip greens? That sounds goooooood. We switched to egg beaters when I make scrambled eggs but I haven't been able to make a good omelet with them yet. They just don't stick together right.
ReplyDeleteCandice, the info about chocolate and sugar is very helpful. Tell us more!
ReplyDeleteMy husband wanted to know what the crunchy stuff was in the omelet and was suprised when he found out it was asparagus. I just used the veggies I had in the frig. It turned out to be really good. I like to use egg beaters too, just haven't added them back into my shopping yet. I have also got to pick up some turkey bacon. Using the egg whites does cut the calories if you'd rather use real eggs. I have found that each (large) egg white only contains 17 calories, so that cuts a lot. I haven't found conversions for baking but will put it on my list of research.
ReplyDeleteAh, found it, substitute 2 egg whites for each whole egg. Here is the site where I found the info.

It has some interesting substitutions.
