ReplyDeleteProud of you mom!
I don't know how many pounds I am down. But I did weigh myself the other day at the gym, for the 1st time in a long time. Kind of a "face your fear" exercise for the soul. I really hate scales and weighing myself. I am terrified. It wasn't as bad as I thought! I am not going to post it here because you will probably kill me. But, it was good for me to be able to face the facts. You can't do anything about your circumstances if you don't even know what they are.
Joey said, "Not every word has an opposite." I said, "No they don't. Like the word House. There is no opposite for that. Most words that have opposites are words that describe things like, let me see...... hmm.. Fat and Skinny. Those describe things or people and they are opposites."
ReplyDeleteJoey: "I think you are kind of fat Mimi. I don't know if I'm skinny or not but I don't have any bumps on my sides!"
Yeah!! I am proud for you!!! I have held my 16 pounds off since we started blogging but haven't managed to add any to it. I am thinking.....holding is good. I need to get serious. I can do this. I need to loose more before vacation in June. Atleast then I would have a few less rolls when I sit on the beach in my swim suit. LOL.
ReplyDeleteCandice, the scale and I don't have a very good relationship. I swear it always tells lies on me. Truth of the matter is though, the truth hurts. Weighing used to be an obsession with me. Now, I will not do so more than once to twice a week.
Glenna, how is the menu going? What type meals have you been having? Any good recipes to share?
Last night we had leftover frozen chili that I made last week. I was in a pinch and ran out of time so I took the container from the freezer and defrosted it and added fat free grilled cheese sandwiches. I count points instead of calories since I am an old weight watchers fan and the points converter takes into consideration number of calories from fat, fiber, etc.... altogether making it much easier for me to keep up with. I try to stay at 20 points per day right now but that will decrease as I lose. It doesn't have to decrease as long as I increase the exercise. Anyway, the chili was low fat made with turkey instead of ground beef and loaded with onions and bell peppers. You can even throw in carrots and it is wonderful! 5 saltines and 1 grilled cheese sandwich. All for only 7 points. And the husband burped so it must have been good. I think I will try to post a weeks worth of menu and recipes on Sunday. If you get started doing that, post and we can swap! That way we won't be eating the same old foods all the time and it would help with ideas!
ReplyDeleteMOM I cannot believe Joey said that :-(
ReplyDeleteI shared the scale victory with someone I love and trust, who has similar body issues. She's even skinnier than me. She was not as pleased as I thought she'd be...because she said I shouldn't be using the word "bad" to describe my weight at all.
For example, It would be one thing if I thought I weighed 250 and was actually only 225 or something. But, I don't know what # I had in my head, but the real weight was 144. (I'm 5 ft 9 in) That's not "bad". That's pretty good, especially because I'm muscular.
Also, she recommended that I try NOT monitoring my calorie intake for a while and see how that works out. Not going crazy, but just eating naturally. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
I think I would just keep on doing what you are doing. You are doing GREAT.
