A New Week is Coming!

I have made a promise to spend time on the week's menu on Saturday. Do all the shopping on Sunday afternoon and see how this works out. I think planning the entire week while leaving room for those changes out of necessity will really help keep me on task.

    I brought my own snacks with me on my trip to save money and calories. I have nuts, granola bars, and fiber bars (which may or may not have been a good idea...eek!). I definitely plan to eat one meal per day (and also coffee, I'm a huge fan of coffee shops) out on the local economy, but it'll be something of a reasonable portion, and price.

    I've already turn down this supposedly awesome and inexpensive buffet adjacent to my hotel twice. Instead, I will go to an establishment where I don't feel pressured to "get my money's worth" or just engage in a guilty-wreaking free-for-all. More of something for the sake of more does not bring happiness.

  2. scratch my previous post. lol. I've been walking around all day and did have my snacks with me...but there are just too many good restaurants out here!

  3. I have decided to make a list of the dinner options I have, main course and side items. I can't seem to make myself do a menu. I will cross off as items are gone and go shopping when the selection gets too slim. My biggest issue is portion control We eat decently healthy foods. It's just that when I finish eating and there's still food on the table, I tend to go for more. Sometimes I refuse to put the meal on the table. I leave it on the counter instead so the temptation is not in front of me. Avon sold a portion control plate once. I wish I could find one. I think it would help me a lot. It was broke into sections and printed in the bottom of each was the amount of each food that was a serving size. I need control.
    And, Candice, I usually do the same thing when we are vacationing. I try to pack healthy snack and only eat out once a day. It's so hard. The restraunts are so tempting. Usually before we go, I have a list of the places that we plan to eat. I use google earth and my travel guide for the area to scope things out.
